CATWALK SWITCH

October 7, 2008 --

IMG - which organizes fashion weeks in New York, Berlin and Miami - will no longer handle the shows in Los Angeles after next week. The West Coast catwalks, which always take a back seat to the extravaganzas in New York, Paris and Milan, begin Friday. Insiders close to the talks said Smashbox, which owns the Culver City studios where the runway shows are held, "will likely move forward producing the event, possibly with IMG as consultants." IMG declined to comment.
