The "Grey's Anatomy" doctors are back - but fewer viewers scrubbed in to watch them Thursday night.
The fifth-season premiere of "Grey's" averaged a win ning 18.5 million viewers (9-11 p.m.) on ABC and won in adults 18-49.
On the down side, Thurs day's episode also shed over 2 million viewers from last sea son's premiere (20.9 million).
ABC officials point out that, last season, "Grey's" gained an additional 2.1 million view ers-per-episode when DVR recording was factored in - which would put Thursday's season opener roughly on par with last season's premiere.
Speaking of ratings, Don ald Trump e-mailed me Fri day with an attached memo from NBC research. Seems Trump had requested info about "The Apprentice UK," and how it's performing on CNBC compared to Trump's version, which also airs on CNBC. Long story short, viewership for the UK ver sion is 58 percent less than Trump's NBC version.
"There is only 1 Donald Trump," Trump wrote in black magic marker on the NBC memo. Indeed.
AOL Television launches a show on Wednesday called "Outside the Box," in which series cast members inter view each other using ques tions submitted by fans. It's spontaneous (they haven't seen the questions ahead of time); the debut episode is centered around "Private Practice" with stars Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs, Audra McDonald and Tim Daly.
Last, but not least:
