Broadway veteran Donna Murphy will join the cast of "Law & Order: SVU" in a recurring role as an emergency-room doctor. Murphy makes her "SVU" debut in the Oct. 28 episode, "Retro," as Dr. Raye Massey, who finds an abandoned child with AIDS.
Murphy's Broadway colleague, Bebe Neuwirth, will be among those honored by Animal Haven Shelter Oct. 28 in Queens. Honorees were chosen "for their dedication to their own pets and the lives of those without homes."
Elsewhere on the acting front, former "24" co-star and Bronx native Louis Lombardi (Edgar) will appear in a November sweeps episode of "Entourage," reprising his role as Ronnie. He'll also co-star in "The Spirit" this December (Samuel L. Jackson/Scarlett Johansson), while his movie, "Doughboys," is out on DVD Nov. 18. Oh, and this Sunday, Louie marries his longtime sweetheart, actress Miranda Allgood, in Throgs Neck. They have a daughter, Ava.
The "Godfather" saga is getting the DVD/Blu Ray treatment Sept. 23 with newly re-mastered versions of "The Godfather" and "The Godfather II" chock-full of bonus "extras" (additional scenes, commentary, etc.). Both "Godfather" flicks are being screened at the Film Forum for two weeks starting today - when "Godfather" stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro open in "Righteous Kill."

* Fancast.com has the exclusive season premiere of "Lincoln Heights" through Monday (season bows Tuesday on ABC Family).
* Outer limits: ABC's Lynn Sherr is featured in October's More magazine detailing her two-week trip to Mongolia.
* Happy birthday to "ATWT" legend Eileen Fulton, who turns 75 on Sunday.
