A veteran NYPD cop has been killed while serving in the military in Afghanistan, police brass confirmed yesterday.
Lt. Daniel Farkas, 42, of Brooklyn, was on extended military leave serving in the National Guard.
Details of his death were not clear yesterday. Police officials referred all questions to the Defense Department, which did not return calls. Farkas' family declined comment.
Farkas was a 20-year veteran at the 112th Precinct in Queens.
