George Steinbrenner will make a rare visit to Yankee Stadium for the July 15 All-Star Game.

"I am looking forward to it," Steinbrenner told the Associated Press yesterday at the Yankees' spring-training complex in Tampa.

A fixture at every big Yankee Stadium event for years, The Boss, who is 78 today, has backed way off in recent years, turning the day-to-day operation over to sons, Hank and Hal. Steinbrenner's lone visit to the Stadium for a game this season was Opening Day.

Steinbrenner was rarely seen at Legends Field during spring training, and when he was spotted he was always with security guards helping him get around on a bad knee.

He does report to his Legends Field office regularly during the season.
