Hondo bounced back beautifully from his two-game losing streak, cashing with the Giants and A's last night to expand his retirement fund to 620 righettis.
Today, on the silver anniversary of the only time Mr. Aitch's designated pitcher honored him with a no-hit ter, he's counting on Super-Duper Looper - 10 units on the Cardinals to slam Zam.
Kobayashi, who's back for today's Coney Island hot dog eating contest after losing last year to Joey Chestnut, has plummeted to third in the World Eating Rankings. It's so sad to see a proud superstar ap proach the end of a legendary career. But it happens to the best of them - Mays stumbling around under fly balls, Jordan losing his ups, and now The Great Kobayashi playing with his food, taking small bites and even pausing to belch . . . Alex and Cynthia Rodri guez are referring all questions about their relation ships to the back of C-Rod's tank top.
