The Serbian consul general in New York was headed home in disgrace yesterday- fired after his resignation was rejected.

The Serbian government axed Slobodan Nenadovic for his office's role in helping a hulking bar brawler flee the country.

"We have relieved him of his duties, effective immediately," a spokeswoman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgrade said.

Nenadovic's vice counsel, Igor Milosevic, put down $100,000 bail money on behalf of the family of 6-foot-9, 260-pound Miladin Kovacevic, who was jailed in upstate Binghamton after beating 135-pound Brooklyn student Bryan Steinhauer into a coma.

The brute was given an emergency passport to replace the one he surrendered, and fled to Serbia.
