Michelle Obama has higher negative ratings than favorable ones - with lower numbers among white voters - while Cindy McCain remains a big unknown for most people, a new poll released yesterday showed.
Michelle Obama, who's been the subject of public criticism and GOP attacks over comments she's made about not being proud of her country, has a 30 percent favorable rating, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo poll.
But her unfavorable number is higher - 35 percent, the survey showed.
And 34 percent say they don't know enough about her to have an opinion.
Among white voters, 22 percent view her favorably, but nearly 41 percent have a negative view of her. Black voters overwhelmingly view her positively, with 78 percent supporting her and 5 percent taking a negative view.
Cindy McCain, the wife of presumptive GOP nominee John McCain, who has a 27 percent approval rating and a 17 percent unfavorable number. But a whopping 56 percent described her as a blank slate.
