Here's what's on tap for many Americans marking the July 4th holiday weekend: barbecues and brewskis.
Last year, Independence Day became the biggest beer-selling holiday of the year - with suds sales exceeding 23 million cases at supermarkets nationwide, according to a study commissioned by the Beer Institute and the National Beer Wholesalers Association.
Sales during that holiday period represented about 5.2 percent of total annual ale sales in 2007.
The industry accounts for more than 1.7 million jobs that pay nearly $55 billion in annual wages, according to the study.
