New York fans hoping to see "The Dark Knight" in all his IMAX glory are almost out of luck for opening weekend, with showings selling out three weeks in advance.

The AMC Loews IMAX theater in Lincoln Square is already reporting three sold-out showings for the July 18 debut of the latest Batman flick, including the midnight offering. Tickets to the next show, at 4 a.m., are nearly 40 percent sold.

"It makes sense that there's a rush for tickets - it looks action-packed, and film fans are anxious to see [the late] Heath Ledger," Fandango marketing VP Ted Hong told Wired magazine.
