A convict who had been jailed for 14 years fell from his chair yesterday after learning a Queens judge threw out his murder rap.

"He fell to the floor and just stayed there," lawyer Thomas Hoffman said of his client, Kareem Bellamy, whose conviction was overturned by Supreme Court Justice Joel Blumenfeld.

Bellamy, found guilty of stabbing James Abbott Jr. in April 1994 in Far Rockaway, said he was innocent from the start.

No one listened until Hoffman and Darin McAtee saw a Court TV show about his trial. The lawyers reinvestigated and turned up new evidence - a recording of someone else's confession.

Prosecutor Sharon Brodt told the court the ruling will be appealed.
