That's just adding insult to injury.

Officials in England rejected a journalist's passport photos because they said his bald head was too shiny in them.

"I was shocked," said Ian Down, photo editor for the Daily Mirror.

"It was a little embarrassing."

In Spain, all men and simians are created equal.

The country's parliament approved a resolution extending the right to life and freedom to great apes.

"This is a historic day in the struggle for animal rights and in defense of our evolutionary comrades," said Pedro Pozas of the Great Apes Project.

Hey, try "evolutionary comrade" next time you want to call someone a big ape.

If this happened in the United States, television news would go out of business.

Some would consider that good news - in which case, it would be perfect for Romanian broadcasters. Allow us to explain:

The Romanian senate has passed a law declaring that the country's television and radio stations must make half of their current-events broadcasts about positive news.

Officials said bad news has "irreversible effect on the health and life of people."

Wow, what a bender!

An Australian man discovered he had married a woman in a drunken stupor 30 years ago, but didn't remember it.

But he got lucky. A judge has ruled that because he has no recollection of the event, the marriage was invalid.

A crocodile walks into a bar and orders a drink - seriously.

Drinkers at the Outback in Noonamah, Australia, didn't bat an eyelash when a 2-foot long croc wandered in - in fact, they gave it a beer.

They then taped up its mouth and put it in a box.
