The mobbed-up former head of the school bus drivers union was sentenced to over four years in prison yesterday after he admitted shaking down three bus companies for thousands of dollars.
Salvatore "Hot Dogs" Battaglia was president of the 15,000-member Local 1181, which contracts with bus companies to provide rides for New York City schoolkids. US District Judge Kimba Wood also ordered him to pay $255,000 in restitution and fines.
