A former New Jersey state's attorney yesterday accused her ex-boss of being a sexist tyrant who interfered with the prosecution of NBA star Jayson Williams.

Katharine Errickson made the claims in a lawsuit against Hunterdon County, its prosecutor's office and the state of New Jersey.

But the clear target is Prosecutor J. Patrick Barnes.

Errickson, who unsuccessfully tried Williams in 2003 for killing his limo driver, claimed that when Barnes found out she was pregnant, he obstructed her retrial preparation by keeping her from interviewing two detectives and forcing her to keep a heavy caseload.

She said Barnes also attempted to damage her reputation by secretly telling the judge in the Williams case about an alleged racial slur made by an investigating detective.

Barnes did not return a message left at his office.
