TRENTON, NJ - Two people died when their home-built airplane crashed in South Jersey yesterday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Holly Baker said the craft, registered and classified as "experimental," crashed shortly after takeoff from Millville Airport in Cumberland County at 8:01 a.m.
The L-29 Delfin went down in woods "a half-mile northwest of the airport for unknown reasons," she said. Both people on board were killed. Their names have not been released.
On Friday, an Atlantic City police officer and his wife were killed when their home-built stunt plane crashed in Cape May County.
