Yuck! Visitors to a Long Island beach will have to stay out of the water until new tests are done on high levels of bacteria caused by waterfowl droppings and storm-water runoff.
Suffolk County authorities closed Lake Beach, in Peconic Dunes County Park in Southold, as a precaution. No one has yet reported feeling ill.
