Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has opened up a major lead against Republican rival John McCain in new poll, breaking a long-standing dead heat between them.
Obama holds 51-36 percent lead among prospective voters, thanks to strong dissatisfaction with the country's direction and his popularity among young voters, according to a Newsweek poll released yesterday.
Obama grabbed a large chunk of women voters after Hillary Rodham Clinton dropped out of the race.
