AIRLINE COMMAND: $TAY!

By TOM LIDDY

June 21, 2008

You can fly the friendly skies . . . but you'll have to stay awhile.

United Airlines will be requiring minimum stays for most domestic flights beginning in October in an effort to combat soaring fuel costs, the carrier said yesterday.

The new rules will force travelers to stay one to three nights with most economy fares.

The length of the stay will depend on the destination, the price of the ticket and the length of the flight.

United is also jacking up its cheapest fares by as much as $90 one way.
