LAS VEGAS - Oakland Raider star receiver Javon Walker was robbed of $100,000 in jewelry during the brutal street assault that left him unconscious, police said yesterday.
Authorities said the multimillionaire wide receiver's attackers knew who he was when they targeted him and robbed him of his costly watch, necklace and earrings, as well as about $3,000 in cash, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
"We don't believe this is a random act," Las Vegas Police Lt. Clint Nichols told the San Francisco Chronicle. "They knew who he was, and [Walker] presented a target.
"We did get a surveillance [video] of a vehicle and suspects that may have been involved. We know there were suspects, possibly two, [but] we haven't identified anyone yet."
Nichols said it is unclear how much Walker may be able to help nail his attackers.
"[On Monday], he couldn't remember a whole lot," the cop said. "He had a concussion and had been drinking, but we're not sure how much."
Walker, 29, suffered a broken eye socket during the attack just off the Las Vegas Strip.
He had just finished a marathon weekend of partying, last leaving the club Body English at the Hard Rock hotel-casino at around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Walker, 29, was expected to be released from the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center within a day.
He signed a $55 million deal with the Raiders after being released by the Broncos in February.
