KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan President Hamid Karzai, saying he had had it with cross-border attacks, yesterday vowed to send troops after notorious Taliban leaders inside Pakistan.
The threat came just days after a sophisticated Taliban assault on Kandahar's prison freed 870 prisoners and six weeks after Karzai survived a fourth assassination attempt.
US officials have increased their warnings in recent weeks that the sanctuaries in Pakistan must be dealt with.
