Freed slaying suspect Marty Tankleff will learn today whether he faces another trial for allegedly murdering his parents 20 years ago - or if state officials have decided to let him stay out of prison.
"We are hopeful that this 20 years of hell for Marty and our family will now come to an end," said Tankleff's uncle, Ron Falbee of Westbury.
Tankleff declined to comment.
Falbee said he hoped Attorney General Andrew Cuomo "will dismiss the case against Marty and bring to justice those responsible for this terrible crime."
Tankleff was freed after serving 17 years behind bars for a crime he denied committing. A unanimous Appellate Court ruling overturned his conviction.
Cuomo's investigators, who could not be reached for comment, are expected to announce their decision today at 2 p.m.
