Police yesterday were searching for this elderly man who disappeared from a Bedford Park hospital.

Eustaquio Alvarez, 88, was admitted to Montefiore Hospital with a leg infection last Wednesday.

On Saturday, the 5-foot-9, 165 pound man was seen leaving the hospital.

He was wearing a gray fedora, a gray short-sleeve shirt and black sandals, and was walking with a cane.

Queens

A woman who passed out in a car after a night of partying woke up yesterday to find the driver shot dead, police sources said.

She left a Queens party with Ravinbranauth Dandhu, 35, early yesterday morning and got into a car, the sources said.

As Dandhu was driving, the woman passed out in the passenger seat. She awakened to find Dandhu with a gunshot to his head and her pocketbook missing.

The car was parked on Dillon Street near 112th Road in Jamaica at about 7:30 a.m., cops said.

Brooklyn

Cops used a job application to track down a deliveryman who allegedly swiped $7,000 from a company truck, authorities said yesterday.

Franto Chery, 24, was left alone in the truck after the driver stopped to make a delivery to a business on 12th Avenue near 48th Street in Borough Park at around 6:30 p.m. on June 2, sources said.

When the driver returned, Chery was missing, and so was the $7,000 in cash from underneath the passenger seat.

The driver reported the theft and cops found out where Chery lived from his job application.

Chery was charged with petit larceny, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

A dim-witted burglar who was caught on camera swiping nearly $2,000 from a doctor's office was captured after he returned to the facility days later to use the bathroom, authorities said yesterday.

Tyrik Styles, 19, sneaked inside the fourth-floor medical office on Bond Street near DeKalb Avenue at 11:11 a.m. on June 8.

While the office was apparently left unattended, Styles allegedly snatched $1,885 from a cash box inside a desk and fled, a deed caught on video.

Styles came back to the office last Thursday and asked the manager if he could use the bathroom.

The manager recognized him and notified police, who arrested Styles and charged him with burglary, trespassing and grand larceny.

Staten Island

A 35-year-old man was arrested after he tried to rob an Eltingville bank, authorities said yesterday.

Yamil Torres-Almedina, 35, was wearing a long coat in 90 degree weather as he lurked outside the Richmond County Bank on Amboy Road and Richmond Avenue just after 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

A passer-by noticed Almedina skulking around and called 911 just before Torres-Almedina allegedly walked up to a teller in the bank and shouted that he wanted money.

When the teller rebuffed him, Torres-Almedina ran away, but was captured nearby by responding cops.

Police frisked Torres-Almedina and found a small amount of marijuana on him, sources said.

A spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan said Torres-Almedina was charged with attempted robbery and marijuana possession.

Manhattan

Two teens were arrested for assaulting a 15-year-old boy during a robbery in the Stapleton section, authorities said yesterday.

Dovan Dotts, 16, and an accomplice, demanded money from the teen at Broad and Wright streets at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, sources said.

When the victim said he had no cash, the accomplice punched him in the face and Dotts pushed him to the ground, cops said.

Dotts then allegedly rifled through the teen's pocket and removed $20.

Police were summoned and captured the suspect during a search.

Both Dotts and his cohort, 15, were charged with robbery and assault, but the younger man was charged as a juvenile.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

A would-be thief was arrested for pummeling a middle-aged man in the Flatiron District, police sources said yesterday.

Luis Rosario allegedly accosted his 50-year-old victim at Fifth Avenue and East 23rd Street at around 8 p.m. last Tuesday, cops said.

Rosario, 50, allegedly punched the victim in the face while trying to take his book bag.

Police were called and Rosario was busted.

A shoplifter was arrested after he was caught swiping deodorant and chewing gum from an Upper East Side drugstore, police sources said yesterday.

A guard spotted Alvaro Higuera, 40, taking the items off a shelf and stuffing them in his pocket in the Duane Reade on East 86th Street near Lexington Avenue last Wednesday, the sources said.

Higuera was charged with burglary and petit larceny.
