'MUST PLAY FOR US' SUIT ROCKS PILOTS

By KATI CORNELL

June 13, 2008

The Stone Temple Pilots got a very large fly in the "Vasoline" yesterday as Atlantic Records slapped band members Scott Weiland and Eric Kretz with a federal suit demanding they record up to three new albums under the band's old contract.

The record label asked a Manhattan federal judge to force Weiland and Kretz to live up to their obligations to produce another album now that they've reunited and are back on tour. "They are touring successfully and have indicated their intention to record again," lawyers wrote in the suit.
