Boy George is making his own karma.

After having to perform five days of community service sweeping for the Sanitation Department in 2006, the '80s Brit pop icon is showing his appreciation for its kindness with a free concert for employees and their families this summer.

George will stop in at the DSNY's Family Day on Aug. 17 at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, where he will perform a full set of his songs in front of about 5,000 people.

It's an attitude change for the rocker, who on his first day of work as a temporary garbage man on Henry Street screamed "F - - - off!" at reporters and "Do you think you're better than me?"

"He conveyed to us that he sees the difficulty in the job that Sanitation does on a daily basis - this is just a way of him showing appreciation for New York's Strongest," said DSNY spokesman Keith Mellis.

A spokesman for George said he had stayed friendly with members of the department.

George, who turns 47 on Saturday, is also playing Westbury, LI, on Aug. 5 and Terminal 5 in Manhattan on Aug 14., where tickets are priced at $35.
