A woman was found mortally stabbed last night in her Chelsea apartment, police said.
The boyfriend of the 60-year-old woman, whose name was withheld, discovered her in the fourth-floor apartment of the building on Eighth Avenue near West 15th Street at 11:15 p.m.
She had been stabbed times in the head and neck.
The boyfriend called 911 and tried to revive her, but she died at a nearby hospital.
A building employee said the victim lived with the boyfriend, but had no further information.
There was no sign of forced entry, and cops were talking to the boyfriend, police sources said.
"This is too strange," said Enrique Cubillo, who lives one floor above the couple.
"I have lived here since 1990 and nothing like this has happened ever."
