A scenic helicopter ride over New York Harbor turned into terror at several hundred feet for five tourists when a door suddenly flew open.
"We were right above the Statue of Liberty, and the door just swings wide open. It just popped," said Kyle Baca, 17, of Louisiana, who was on the May 29 midday flight.
A man grabbed the door handle and held it shut, Baca said.
Liberty Helicopter did not return calls for comment.
