DAREDEVILS BEDEVIL POL

By AMY CRAWFORD

Daredevils scaling skyscrapers pose a significant risk for terrorist attacks, a state legislator charged yesterday.

Speaking outside the New York Times building in Midtown, where two daredevils scaled the building last week, state Sen. Eric Adams (D-Brooklyn) said buildings must be built to prevent people from climbing.

"This is almost like a ladder to the top," he said of the Times building. "There is nothing entertaining about the devilish action of a daredevil scaling a skyscraper. It endangers the public and poses security risks."

Adams' biggest concern is the threat of a terrorist daredevil, who could plant a bomb on a building after climbing it.

He's also angry about the huge public cost of policing daredevils, saying it runs thousands of dollars to respond to their stunts.

Adams called on Mayor Bloomberg to create a "skyscraper threat-assessment task force" to check the security of high rises around the city.
