GOLF: Wie falls off pace in Germany
Michelle Wie shot a 2-under 70 in the third round of the Ladies German Open in Munich to fall seven strokes behind leader Amy Wang, who had a course-record 63.
* In Mount Pleasant, S.C., Sophie Gustafson shot a 67 to push past a faltering Karrie Webb and take a six-stroke lead into the final round of the Ginn Tribute. Tournament host Annika Sorenstam continued to struggle with a 75.
* In West Des Moines, Iowa, Nick Price shot a 5-under 66 and took a one-shot lead over six players after the second round of the Champions Tour Principal Charity Classic. . . . Scott Strange shot a 2-under 69 and maintained a three-shot lead at 15-under after the third round of the Wales Open in Newport, despite feeling dizzy at one point on the back nine.
* Former NCAA champion Stacy Lewis and Alison Walshe stayed perfect on the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland, hanging on to win the final fourball match to give the Americans a 71/2-41/2 lead in the Curtis Cup.
NBA: Horry mulls retirement
Spurs F Robert Horry said yesterday he's considering stepping away from the game after winning seven NBA championships in a 16-season career.
MLB: Bosox's Buchholz to Triple-A
The Red Sox activated RHP Clay Buchholz from the 15-day DL yesterday and optioned him to Triple-A Pawtucket.
