A former correction officer was charged with killing an 85-year-old grandmother doing Tai Chi exercises in Chinatown after body-slamming her to the ground in a drunken rage, police said yesterday.
Gary Brown, 27, told police he was headed to a friend's home early on May 25 after a night of drinking when he claimed he accidentally bumped into Liu Mei Liang in the playground of PS 134 on East Broadway and knocked her down. Witnesses saw him pick her up and slam her to the ground, cops said.
Liang died two days later at Bellevue Hospital from head trauma.
