RED BULLS SEEK REBOUND VS. HOUSTON

By BRIAN LEWIS

May 31, 2008

The Red Bulls will try to rebound from last Sunday's 5-1 loss to Chicago -- their worst home loss since 1999 -- by beating Houston tonight (8:30, HDNet). And they'll have to beat the defending MLS champs on the road, playing without midfielders Dave van den Bergh and Claudio Reyna.

The former's wife is set to give birth, and the latter is hamstrung, but the Red Bulls (3-2-3, 12 points) will get back midfielder Seth Stammler, who missed three straight games. Houston is without leading scorer Dwayne De Rosario and goalkeeper Pat Onstad to Canadian team duty and defender Eddie Robinson to suspension. Defender Wade Barrett (groin) is doubtful.

Houston midfielder Rico Clark, who played at England on Wednesday and is set to play at Spain next Wednesday, flew back and is available for tonight.

The Red Bulls finalized their friendly vs. Barcelona on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at Giants Stadium. They're also still waiting to see if Mexican defender Diego Jimenez accepted their contract offer.
