David Ortiz homered twice and drove in four runs and the Red Sox outslugged the Brewers to complete a sweep of their interleague series with an 11-7 win yesterday despite a subpar outing by ace Josh Beckett.

Kevin Youkilis hit a two-run homer and Dustin Pedroia also homered for Boston, hitting a solo shot ahead of Ortiz's first of the game.

Ryan Braun hit his 12th and 13th homers, J.J. Hardy had a two-run shot and Prince Fielder added a solo homer for the Brewers, who lost their fifth straight.

Rockies 6, Twins 2

In Denver, Jeff Francis won for the first time this season and Todd Helton homered and drove in three runs, helping the Rockies beat the Twins in the rubber match of their three-game series.

Cardinals 5, Rays 4

In St. Louis, Skip Schumaker doubled with one out in the ninth inning over a drawn-in outfield, driving in the winning run and capping the Cardinals' rally from a three-run deficit in a victory over the Rays.

Braves 5, Athletics 2

In Atlanta, Yunel Escobar had three hits, including a two-run single that gave Atlanta the lead, Omar Infante added a two-run triple in the eighth and the Braves beat the Athletics.

Reds 6, Indians 4

In Cincinnati, Adam Dunn and Joey Votto gave untouchable Cliff Lee his comeuppance.

Dunn homered for the fourth straight game, and Votto finished off Lee with the first pinch-hit homer of his career, leading the Reds to a three-game sweep of the Indians.

Royals 9, Marlins 3

In Miami, Jose Guillen homered and drove in four runs, and Zack Greinke pitched six innings to help the Royals take the rubber game of their series against the Marlins.

The Royals won for the sixth time in seven games. Florida remained atop the NL East despite finishing the week with only one victory in six games.

Mariners 3, Padres 2

In Seattle, Jose Lopez jumped on the first pitch from San Diego reliever Heath Bell in the bottom of the eighth, lining a two-out, two-run double into the right-field corner, and the Mariners rallied for a victory over the Padres.

Angels 10, Dodgers 2

In Anaheim, Mike Napoli homered twice and drove in a career-high five runs to power the Angels to a victory over the Dodgers.

The Angels took two of three in the "Freeway Series," including Friday night's opener.

Nationals 2, Orioles 1

In Baltimore, rookie John Lannan took a three-hitter into the eighth inning, Cristian Guzman homered, and the Nationals ended the Orioles' four-game winning streak.

Astros 5, Rangers 4

In Arlington, Texas, Brandon Backe pitched into the seventh inning, Miguel Tejada had three hits and the Astros beat the Rangers.

D'backs 4, Tigers 0

In Phoenix, Randy Johnson pitched seven scoreless innings for his 288th career victory, and the Diamondbacks defeated the Tigers.

White Sox 13, Giants 8

In San Francisco, Nick Swisher, the former fan favorite across the bay in Oakland, spoiled the Giants' day with a tiebreaking three-run double in the eighth as a pinch-hitter, lifting the White Sox to complete the three-game sweep.

Blue Jays 6, Phillies 5

Lyle Overbay's three-run pinch-hit homer and Shannon Stewart's two-run double helped the Blue Jays beat the Phillies in a game that was delayed twice by rain.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Cubs 4, Pirates 3

In Chicago, Reed Johnson hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly and the Cubs beat the Pirates.

Alfonso Soriano also drove in a run on a fly and Kosuke Fukudome and Ronny Cedeno had RBI singles to help the Cubs beat the Pirates for the eighth time in nine meetings this season.
