A drink or two a day may make for stronger bones, according to a new review of literature on the issue - but more than two may lead to a broken hip.
People who drank between one half and one alcoholic beverage a day were 20 percent less likely than teetotalers to sustain hip fractures, Dr. Karina Berg, of Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, and colleagues found.
But more than two drinks a day raised the risk of such a fracture, Berg writes in The American Journal of Medicine.
