HIGHTSTOWN, NJ - Cops in this Mercer County town are looking into a report that a high-school student set fire to a Sikh schoolmate's turban.
A Sikh community group is calling for a full investigation and wants Hightstown HS to do more to fight discrimination against followers of their religion.
The Sikh Coalition says the alleged assault occurred May 5 during a fire drill as one of only two Sikh students to wear turbans in the school was talking with a friend. He managed to put out the fire without injury.
