KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Killer tornadoes cut a swath of destruction across two Midwestern states last night leaving at least 18 people dead and reducing blocks of small towns to rubble.
One twister killed at least six people in the northeastern Oklahoma town of Picher, leveling a 20-block area, then plowed into the southwestern Missouri town of Seneca killing another three.
Nine more victims were also reported in other sections of Missouri, authorities said.
