FALLEN 'IDOL' SENT SEX TEXT TO BOYS: DA

An "American Idol" reject who volunteered at a Brooklyn elementary school was arrested yesterday for sending sexually provocative text messages to a 12-year-old male student and for propositioning a 10-year-old boy, authorities said.

Colin Leahy, 23, of Brooklyn, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, the Brooklyn DA's Office said.

At 19, Leahy had auditioned for the third season of "American Idol" as contestant No. 47590 - singing a monotone version of "One Step Closer."

"I like to make people happy and smile," he said in the audition tape.

While Leahy had likened himself to Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken in that both had worked as camp counselors, the judges trashed his performance.

"Well, Colin, that is just about as bad as it can possibly get," said judge Simon Cowell. "I can't think of anything I've actually hated more."
